As a Friend, you will get a list of concerts for the year posted to you. Friends membership costs just £5 per individual for the calendar year, and by way of thanks we print your name in the programme. The Orchestra is a registered charity, and if you pay tax and fill out a GiftAid form, for every pound you give to us, we can claim back from the taxman the basic rate of tax, which helps us even more!

As a Player...

You or your company can sponsor the orchestra to help us with things we need to spend money on - such as our soloists, conductors and concert venues. For the basic sponsorship deal of £30 pounds, your company will be named in concert programmes. If you would like a better opportunity, then get in contact with us, and we can put your company name on posters, our website, connecting you to specific things like soloists or music works. As we are a registered charity, it could help your company's image locally to sponsor a community based organisation like ours, and you will get the knowlege that it all helps us too.

So you want to get involved?

After all, we are an orchestra! We need players who can play orchestral instruments like violins, violas, bass, trumpets, percussion. For some sections, there are immediate vacancies - if you are interested, do get in touch and we will see if we can fit you in. Our rehearsals are on Thursday evenings - ususally five for each concert. So it helps if you can sightread very well, attend regularly and play to the standard of a good orchestra!

If you can't or don't want to play in the orchestra but would llike to help out in some other way, there are other tasks that need doing. We need help with publicity, front of house, concert venue lighting and sponsorship. Any time you can spend on these jobs is well worth it, and releases hard-pressed committee members from some of the multiple tasks thay do.
